Hey Y'all!!
Happy Monday and Happy World Autism Awareness Day!! I am so excited about this AWESOME blog hop!! The reason why this blog hop is so close to my heart is because of this lil man here.
This is my pride, joy, my life, my lil man, my partner in crime, my best friend, my miracle, my son. This is Thelonious Ross Nelson(Theo) and he is 6 1/2 years old. My hubby Tim and I found out that our lil Theo had autism June 2014. I am not gonna lie.... when I found out my heart hurt so bad. I felt like it was my fault and I cried all day long. Then I realized that I wasn't alone. People like Tim, Mom, Dad, Mom and Dad in-law, Veronica, Amy, Anita, Libby, Connie, Jessi, Pinky, Jenee, MaryLynn, Nitchka(if I missed any of y'all I am so sorry.....brain fart...lol) and many of the Autism FB groups and many others have helped me so much! Y'all are seriously my heroes......for reals.......WERD!! I am so grateful that all of you are participating in this wonderful blog hop as well. It really does make my heart HAPPY to see all of this AWESOME support from all of y'all!!! THANKS SO MUCH!! I don't personally know anyone with autism, yet I'm pleased and proud to be a part of this blog hop! The card I've chosen to share here seems representative of a parent with an autistic child; a loving parent gazing into the immense sky at the shining stars and encouraging that child to always shine bright! Thank you for the opportunity to participate! :)
I would like to say how much I appreciate that you are participating in this. My son is 12 and he has Aspergers syndrome. He also has aggressive ADHD and it was hard to get the autism diagnosis and therefore to get it treated. This is a wonderful way to raise awareness

Theo was sent to you and your husband because something knew that you were strong, caring and willing to give 100% to Theo where others would fail. That's roughly the message I was given but with different names off my nanny. You are amazing and so is Theo x

Thank you for your card, it is beautiful. However, let me say that I saw Theo's cards and I am inspired. I can't believe that a 6 1/2 boy can create such an amazing card. I know that at that age I was not crafting at all. He did a great job. Keep his talent going. I wish my mom who was a very talented artist had passed that on to me growing up. You are on an amazing adventure with Theo. I hope your family is ready for the ride.

I didn't know about your son. I have enjoyed your cards for years, but have never read anything about your real life. My son is on the spectrum, and turns 26 tomorrow. He has struggled with many things his whole life, and will continue to. But he has found a career that will support him on his own some day, and we are SOOOO grateful. I lived in fear, dread, hopelessness....if I'd only had a crystal ball...there is hope, even when it sure doesn't seem like there is any reason for hope. Anyway, thank you for your story, and for all you do to bring joy into people's lives. Probably the main reason I am into crafting is because it helps my mind and emotions to rest so I won't have to think about certain things at that time. It really helps. :)

As a mom of autism kiddos too -- no offnse, but Theo's cards are my favorite!
Theo's cards are wonderful! Yours is too. I love the stars. We have some autistic kids at our school and they are wonderful people! They are so fun and loving. God obviously thought a lot of you to give you such a special gift.
